AMBRE: Behind the Brand

 Where Did It All Start?

Meet Naomi Stuart, the Founder of Ambre Clothing.  Naomi is an avid skier who loves the outdoors, especially the mountains.  She has a passion for the earth's natural habitat because of seeing first-hand the devastating effects that climate change is having on our environment.  With a strong desire to help in some way, but not knowing where to start, she decided to use any spare time she had to do research and speak to people about sustainable and ethical practices within the fashion world.

While doing this research she was shocked to learn that many brands were just 'greenwashing'.  Greenwashing is a form of a marketing spin in which green values and green marketing are deceptively used to persuade the public that an organization's products, aims, and policies are environmentally friendly.  After finding this out, Naomi felt there was a gap in the fashion world for a clothing brand that was environmentally conscious in everything they did.  Because of this, AMBRE was borne.  A casual wear brand that takes pride in and is committed to ensuring they are always sustainable and ethical.

How are your Clothes Made?

AMBRE's casual wear collection is made from the best raw materials, grown or produced in ways that do not harm people, animals, or the environment.  All of AMBRE's clothes are made in Bangladesh and China through global manufacturing partners who are committed to fair and safe working practices.  AMBRE ensures that all their manufacturing partners have transparent, sustainable, and ethical processes, with the strictest environmental certifications and labels.  Each of the manufacturing companies they work with is GOTS-certified and audited by the Fair Wear Foundation.

Sustainability:

Each garment is made from certified organic regenerated cotton and recycled polyester; quality clothing whose active life will be extended longer, meaning less will end up in landfills.  All of AMBRE's clothes are 100% vegan and have been certified by PETA confirming they are free of any animal ingredients.  Each of their garments is presented in a certified organic cotton drawstring bag and then packaged in biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable Kraft paper.  Even their swing tags, thank you cards, and embroidery thread are made of sustainable materials.

In Conclusion:

AMBRE is a brand with a passion for nature and sustainable fashion.  They continue to review and develop what to do to ensure they have a positive impact on our people and the environment.
