Where Did It All Start?

Blue Canoe began in 1994 with a clear vision, to create organic clothing made in the USA that would fit the way women really lived.  Focusing on effortlessly stylish, high-quality fabrics, combining functional with beautiful the line and business grew.  Today Blue Canoe thrives in San Francisco, California where they manufacture a full line of timeless, eco-friendly clothing and lingerie.

How Does Your Clothing Process Work?

Blue Canoe has always made their clothes in the USA.  They support American workers, manufacturers, and distributors.  In this way, they help to reduce trade deficits, leave a smaller transportation footprint, and meet the highest environmental and labor standards.  Blue Canoe continues to make high-quality apparel, support the communities where they manufacture, keep jobs local, and keep their supply chains simple so they and their customers know where and how their clothes are made.

What Inspires Your Designs?

As a women-owned and run company, each design is inspired to fit the way women really live.  Designed for the real world with simple lines and sophisticated styles so that you can dress once and keep going through your day.

Review of the Pointelle Short Sleeve Tee and Lounge Pant :

I typically wear an extra-small or small.  Using the size chart online I chose a size small in both.  I like the top and pants because of the lacy, filigree stripe and the dainty frill to the edge of the sleeves, and the bottom of the pants.  Made of 100% organically grown cotton and bamboo.  Designed with lounging in mind both garments have a relaxed fit.  However, you can dress the top up in a few ways, check out my Instagram to see me styling this top in different pieces from my closet.

Review of the Cloud Hoody :

I typically wear an extra-small or small.  Using the size chart online I chose a size small.  I like this hoody because, like its name suggests, the fabric feels soft like a cloud.  I like the simple, yet elegant, wrap front.  Made of 28% organically grown cotton/66% rayon from organically grown bamboo/6% spandex.  I would wear this hoody when lounging at home, over a workout top, or dress it up with other pieces.  Check out my Instagram to see me styling this top with a piece from my own closet.

Sustainability:

Organic cotton and bamboo are the hallmarks of Blue Canoe.  Their cotton and bamboo are grown without harmful pesticides and chemical-free fertilizers.  Only the most gentle, non-toxic dyes are used.  All their clothing is plant-based, no petroleum-derived fabrics, such as polyester or nylon that rely on oil and pollute the planet, are used.  Blue Canoe champions the cause of reducing water usage by using organic cotton instead of conventional cotton.  Organic cotton farming has the ability to reduce water consumption by as much as 91 percent.  The health of their clients and the planet are Blue Canoe's primary focus, which is why they refuse to use toxic dyes in any of their products.  Blue Canoe only uses fiber-reactive dyes, dyes that can only be used to color natural fibers.  Fiber-reactive dyes require less water to produce, create less waste and also are generally safer for people.

Conclusion:

Blue Canoe is a brand dedicated to creating their customers high-quality, safe, and sustainable clothing.
