What is the inspiration behind the brand?

JOPLINS was inspired to start in 2016 to make a difference by promoting a more ecological, sustainable lifestyle and developing an eco-friendly eyewear business.  Made up of a team of young adults from different parts of the world and cultures.  Each one loves the sun, and nature, and shares the simple goal of changing the world one pair of sunglasses at a time. JOPLINS' vision and purpose are to become a reference as an eco-friendly and sustainable sunglasses brand.

How did production get started?

JOPLINS started with a small production of bamboo sunglasses.  Now there are four different handmade collections featuring, bamboo, wood, and bio acetate, with over 25 different models of sunglasses for men and women.  

What is unique about your designs?

The inspiration is to provide the best possible experience for their customer.  These sunglasses feature advanced 9-layer lenses that have double layers of scratch resistance, designed to provide maximum clarity with no distortion, and superior polarization, which reduces harmful glares coming off flat surfaces.  Every design is modern and innovative to have a slightly different look than styles already out there.

What actions does JOPLINS take to be sustainable?

Every order made from JOPLINS a donation takes place to environmental projects around the world.  Each order plants three trees in countries such as Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, and Ethiopia, and removes 1kg of plastic from oceans in Brazil and Indonesia through partnerships with the Plastic Bank and the Eden Reforestation Projects.  Every package is eco-friendly being made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials, that can be recycled again.  All shipping emissions are offset by JOPLINS investing in carbon offset projects around the globe, so you can be sure that every JOPLINS order is arriving to you with a zero carbon footprint.  JOPLINS also offers a recycling program, customers can send back their used sunglasses for the use of the materials for repairing other sunglasses.
